A pretty shade of purple

Today we have the privilege of voting for a new president. Voting is not only your right, it's your American responsibility. PLEASE get out and VOTE!!

Vote blue or red, whatever your beliefs tell you. At the end of the day we will have a new president elect. We may or may not know who it is yet if it is a close race, but there will be one elected. Tomorrow we will need to turn off all the colorful maps and become a purple country. Whoever stands up and accepts his role as the new president will be charged with bringing our country together.

In the news last night there was an article about police being ready with riot gear. This really saddens me. This has been a passionate election season and blue or red, the results will be historic. As a purple country it will be an exciting time for all of us. I can only say that I sincerely hope riot gear won't be needed.

Both candidates are good men. They have differing philosophies about the direction our country needs to take, but both agree it can't "stay the course" any longer. Get out and cast your ballot for your choice, blue or red, but remember - when the polls close at the end of the day, we all need to be purple. A pretty 'look to the future' shade of purple.

What is a Democracy?
