Bailey's Point with Bluegrass Tearjerkers

Bailey's Point Campground is on Barren River Lake in south central Kentucky.  It's a very pretty part of the state, just about an hour or so north of Nashville, TN.  I mention that because Mark was in Nashville all week for work and it was a convenient coincidence since we could just meet up near the campground on Friday.

Temps were in the high 80's with high humidity which is not my favorite weather to camp in.  But the Bluegrass Tearjerkers are some of our favorites to camp with so it's worth putting up with a little bit of sweat.  But it didn't help my heat-itude that our reserved spot was completely shadeless.  UGH!

There is a lot to do in the area, beginning with the lake. We saw a few nice striped bass being pulled out by beach fishers, kids swimming and folks paddling their kayaks and humming along in their fishing boats or platoon boats. This recreation area is also very near the cave area and the Corvette Museum.  And of course, being Kentucky, it's always possible to find a nice winery or distillery to visit.
