Current mood:breezy
Our house is finally listed on the internet. If you know someone who wants to live in Sandy I totally recommend this home. If we weren't relocating we wouldn't be selling - I LOVE this home!! Check it out...
Virtual Tour - my beloved home! I have to tell you that the photographer interjected Mom's bedroom in the middle of the master suite tour. The room with the green walls is not part of the master suite!
Normal MLS listing Not crazy about the photos - the photos online when we bought this home were a lot better.
Okay, now to share some photos that Mark took on his Cincy trip this week...
This is looking down Shane Lane - our house is the last one on the cul-de-sac, cloaked in blue construction paper. The houses you see behind us are further away than they appear to be. There's a significant green space between us and them, and a grassy park-like area before you get to the community pool.
This is the front from the right side. There will be a covered porch from the garage to the right side of the door.
Front of house/garages - left side.
Rear of house taken from green space, small ravine. The first bump-out with just a window in the basement is my future craft room - woot woot!!
Rear of house somewhat as seen (I believe) walking back from the community pool. Door will lead into our walk-out basement and, I hope, be the main access for my craft students to come to my craft room. Room above the door is the sun room - my favorite room of the house. A deck will come off the center of the house accessed by a door off the side of the sun room. Windows at the very top are the master suite.
I am excited about this house, but I would trade it all to stay here. You may have noticed there are no mountains in any of these photos...
Greetings Ms. Badonkadonk

What a co-ink-a-dink. Drees is also the outfit that put together my darling young bride's and my brand new, super-deluxe, custom-built double-wide that we moved into last summer. So far we like the workmanship and they've made good on all their warranties. And since "Drees doesn't build homes in a flood plain" they even pay for our flood insurance premium.
.
It just so happens that we don't have a view of any mountains either. But we can see a couple of ridge lines. We're not as close to the community pool as your new home, however, we can still hear the children laughing while they splash. Our green space bumps up to our back yard and just happens to be a remnant of the great Eastern Cross Timbers of Texass (they are so thick that the early settlers couldn't cross them) and the beautiful muddy banks of Elizabeth Creek. The fishing is good.
.
Good luck with the sell of your home. I know how anxious one can get going through that turmoil. I know my dear bride was a nervous wreck while trying to sell our Maryland mansion.

Respectfully,
Gordon Lee

It's so good to hear others that have had good experiences with their Drees homes. We were assured that they were great to work with but hearing it first hand is better.
I have to know where in Maryland your mansion was? I was born in Maryland and our mansion there was over the veterinary clinic until we moved back to Washington State. I was only 4 at that time but I do still have relatives there.
Thanks for stopping in!
Totally cool, Bets, I love BOTH your homes! Hope seeing it at least gives you a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Much love, Girlfriend. XO C

3 years agoThank you. I think the one we are currently in is more 'me' than the one we are building. I know Utah is more 'me' than Kentucky. But change is good and I'll adjust. Heck, I am going to make it my goal to do better than just 'adjust.'
Holy crap..that looks like a mansion!! Very beautiful!
Your old home is very very nice. Too bad I am not moving. LOL
Huggers!

3 years agoI KNOW!! I have no idea how we ended up with something so big... I don't think it started out that big, but I think everytime we looked at the plans we'd shrug our shoulders and say, "why not?" and add something else.
Just talked to Mark a little while ago and he said when he went by today the pipes were in for the plumbing, the exterior doors were on and the roof was nearly ready for shingles. It just seems unreal that this is being built FOR ME!
