I just hate those foil caps that you find on plastic bottle tops. You know the ones... they are under the catsup cap, on top of the peanut butter jar, many otc drugs... they're everywhere, they're everywhere!!
I am finding them now when I give a bottle of Boost to Harriett. Little foil cap that overlaps the edge of the boost bottle by about 1/16th of an inch. Who can get a grip on a 1/16th inch piece of foil? Since she's going to drink the Boost straight from the bottle I have to pull it off - I can't just poke a hole through it and hand it to her...
***lightbulb moment! Poke a hole and use a straw!!***
Some manufacturers are getting a little bit smarter and design the foil caps with a half-cap tab to pull it off with. Some leave a larger piece of foil to try to grip. I say try because even 1/4" is hard to grip tight enough to pull off.
So I generally end up using my teeth to get a grip on that 1/16th inch lip. That, of course, gets me scowls from my husband as he starts telling me how bad that is on my teeth...
I think there has to be a better way!
